Dancing with the Betas
To offer some cultural enrichment and bring the community together through dance, I coordinated a yearly dance class, showcasing a different for of dance every year, from salsa, to bachata, to afro-caribbean dance. This was open to the community and surrounding universities.
Love Letters to My AfroLatinidad
To spread the love for Valentine's Day and Black History month, we decided to do a community engagement event over Instagram, where people were encouraged to post letters for others/themselves to spread the love and creativity throughout the community.
Valentine's Day Raffle
On theme with Valentine's Day, we decided to do a virtual raffle through Instagram as part of a marketing campaign to raise money for our chapter. We resourced strengths within our chapter and were able to provide a high reward with little cost on our account.
Krispy Kreme Fundraiser
Part of a week of a variety of different events, we also fundraise for local women's shelters in the area. We conducted a Krispy Kreme fundraiser and donated all the proceeds to Stone House Boston. I chose Krispy Kreme as there are none near Boston as such creates high demand for fundraising.
Beta's Boombox
To help build community and wind down, we also host an annual karaoke event, where we host around 50 people to mingle and sing out their favorite songs. I was responsible for the catering, booking, subbing, and management of entire event activities.
Beta Bodega
Playing to our strengths, I planned a bonding activity around the baking of these delectable treats to then fundraise on different universities around Boston. We took pre-orders as well as sold in person so as to maximize sales. An incredible fundraiser, and if it were to be done again, we would make many more!
