The research position that jumpstarted my interest in soft materials and textiles, FibeRobo is a temperature dynamic fiber that contracts when heated and contracts when cooled made of liquid crystal elastomers. What makes Fiberobo special is that there are no other fabrics that reverse the polymers shifting and got back to its original state. Most common temperature dynamic fibers cannot contract the way that FibeRobo does. I was honored to work alongside this team and help with testing and fabric integration, as well as machine debugging and maintenance. I have linked picture of the work and testing I conducted, as well as the research paper on FibeRobo.
